The nullspace of a 3 by 2 matrix with rank 2 is $Z$ (only the zero vector because the 2 columns are independent). So $x_n=0$, and row space $=R^2$. Column space $=$ plane perpendicular to left nullspace $=$ line in $R^3$ (because the rank is 2 ).
