Since $A$ is invertible, $P=A{\left(A^{T}A\right)}^{-1}{A}^T$ separates into $A{A}^{-1}{\left(A^T\right)}^{-1}{A}^T=I$. And $I$ is the projection matrix onto all of $R^2$.
