Question

Factor each of those matrices into $A=C R$. The matrix $R$ will contain the numbers that multiply columns of $C$ to recover columns of $A$.
This is one way to look at matrix multiplication: $C$ times each column of $R$.

$$A_1 = \begin{bmatrix}1 \ 3 \ 2\end{bmatrix}\begin{bmatrix}1 & 3 & -2\end{bmatrix},$$
and
$$A_2 = \begin{bmatrix}1 & 2\ 4 &5\ 7 & 8\end{bmatrix}\begin{bmatrix}1 & 0 & -1\ 0 &1 &2\end{bmatrix}.$$
