If $A = XΛ X^{- 1}$ , then $A + 2 I = XΛ X^{- 1} + 2 X X^{- 1} = X (Λ + 2) X^{- 1}$ , the eigenvalue matrix is $Λ + 2$ . The eigenvector matrix is the same as $A$ .
