Show that there is no rational number satisfying $2^{r} = 3$

If $r = 0$ clearly $2^{r} = 1 \neq 3$ , if $r \neq 0$ set $p ∕ q = r$ to get $2^{p} = 3^{q}$ which is impossible since $2$ and $3$ share no factors.
