and get the result by

For the second method, we may calculate that

E = i=1m(y i cti d)2

and ∂E ∂c = 0 and ∂E ∂d = 0 give the normal equations.

2.
We want to claim that y¯ = ct¯ + d, whrer t¯, y¯ are defined in the question and c, d are a solution of the normal equations. But this is an instant result by dividing the second equation by m.
