Exercise 2.3.25 (Irreducible elements field)

What are the irreducible elements of a field?

Answers

Solution: We know thar for a ring R, r is irreducible if r is not 0 or a unit and if for a,b R, then r = ab a or b is a unit. However, we know that every element of a field K is a either a unit or 0. Therefore, there are no irreducible elements in a field.
